Universal Symbol for No Sex
Created for the Promotion of AIDS Prevention

Everyone has seen the Universal Symbol for No Smoking. Well, now we have one for No Sex. For the very first time a touch of humor is being used to promote the prevention of AIDS, and it has been done with class. A California resident who has just recently received his copyright in June of 1996, from the United States Copyright Office, and which is good in over 100 countries around the world, can now begin promoting the prevention of AIDS and safe sex with a 'Universal Symbol.' His design is very simple and one in which anyone, speaking any language, and from any part of the world can easily understand. His ultimate goal is to reach out to the whole world and get the message across that sex with multiple partners is out of control.

On the Internet he is known as Healthyguy while his email address of healthy1@whoever.com and web address of http://www.healthy1.org reflect just that healthy theme. For that reason, he has incorporated his email and web address within his design in his shirts to bring out this theme of encouraging positive self-esteem and good feelings towards oneself. He believes that the individual is in control of their own destiny, and therefore making good decisons in life is what keeps you alive and well. According to Healthyguy, "The best decisions in life are made when we are not allowing our ego to control our actions for the sake of pure ego-gratification. Having sex with multiple partners is nothing more than an extreme case of pure ego-gratification at the highest level when viewed on a continuum from a psychology perspective." Healthyguy's Master's Thesis deals with just that subject. "It's very simple. If we don't have control of our ego, we are out of control! When we are in control of our emotions and take blame for our own actions, the learning process can kick in and we can do anything that we set our mind to in life. Life is all about making better decisions as we age. That's how we stay alive!"

According to Healthyguy, "People need to wake up and realize what they are dealing with when they catch a virus. You can never get rid of a virus! It does not matter whether it is a cold, flu, or an AIDS virus. Once you get a virus, it lives in your body for life because it is smaller than the size of the hole in your cell wall. It now has a perfect santuary to hide out, goes dormant, and waits until the body's defense mechanisms are weak so that it can exit the cell and start multiplying again. So you can not wipe out a virus with medication because in order to do this you would have to pump poison into every cell in the body...and that would be the end of you. The idea is to keep your health and stamina functioning at the highest level so that normal viruses that you've picked up along the way stay dormant and do not come out to make you ill. However, the bottom line is: Don't get the virus in the first place. The only people who are coming down ill from a flu or cold virus are those who have let their immune systems get weak.1 The real danger comes when you catch a retro-virus like AIDS, and you end up exposing yourself to anything and everything because this retro-virus attacks the T-cells which normally keep you healthy, wealthy, and wise on a daily basis.2 Therefore when it comes to sexual contact, the concepts of abstinence and loyalty are the only two factors that can guarantee that you will not expose yourself to this deadly virus known as AIDS."

Healthyguy has created "No Sex" shirts for political groups, individuals, retail outlets, and for AIDS organizations as fund raisers at their Walk-a-thons and Dance-o-ramas. He has six different slogans in which everyone can at least identify with one. These include: "Abstinence and Loyalty: The Safest Sex of All," "True Love Waits," "Just Say No," "Sex Can Wait," "Abstinence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder," and "Born Again Virgin." He hopes that his shirts will get the message out that it is time for people's philosophical beliefs to take a strong moral stance and show respect for the human race. He says, "Only then can we expect to create an environment that is based on a fundamental law of nature: Be positive and constructive to be most productive."
